Statement
This sketch was developed in 1999 in order to explore the idea of making a work about spam and advertising. At the time I was talking with Joe Dellinger about collaborating, and the sketch was part of a schematic site intended to communicate some of my ideas. That project is currently on the "back burner," but I incorporated some of the visual qualities of the postcard image into a part of "Culture Map."

Andy Deck makes public art for the internet that resists generic categorization: collaborative drawing spaces, game-like search engines, problematic interfaces, informative art. Deck has made art software since 1990, initially using it to produce short films.
