Statement
This is a rough layout for the case studies page on artistprotection.com. The original plan was to have a "before" photo of our subject, Doris Z, looking very sad, and an "after" photo of her looking happy and successful. (The circles here represent photos, the lines represent lines of text). But I also wanted to get in some general marketing text, and a brief description of Doris' life. Because this page was a teaser for a more extensive section that details Doris' story (follow the link "Learn more about Doris"), I ultimately decided that the photos here should emphasize the success she has had since joining the Artist Protection & Benefit Program. Artistprotection.com humorously comments on the value of art, the nature of the art market, and the plight of the under-recognized artist. It is also a spoof on the kind of marketing that consumers are exposed to every day in ads on TV, the web, newspapers, magazines and brochures.
