Statement
This pencil sketch was used as the reference for an animated caricature of M.River (senior at associate of MTAA) in a piece entitled "Website Unseen #17: Captain Kirk's Chair: An instructional Installation (reproduction at: www.mteww.com/kirkchair/index.html). "Website Unseen #17" is a Flash-based animated artwork which opens with the caricature of M.River addressing the viewer and explaining how the work functions as a digital artwork and its relation to the physical art world. The bulk of the piece is a detailed description of how to install and conduct a 24 hour performance/installation. The viewer may read descriptions or have it read to them by M.River & T.Whid. The caricature of M.River returns at the end to address the viewer with some final thoughts. "Website Unseen #17" was commissioned by The Northern Gallery of Contemporary Art, Sunderland, UK. The Website Unseen offer was a list of one hundred titles for art websites that M.River and T.Whid would build only when a title was commissioned for 100.00 USD. The offer has been withdrawn after 1 year and 15 commissions. For more information please visit http://www.mteww.com.
